Meet Gwynne
FOUNDER OF PEPPER STREET PETS
Born and raised in Ridgefield, Gwynne is proud to own and operate a small business in the community she loves.
After attending Indiana University, Gwynne spent years working in the sports world, including in the NASCAR industry and marketing in North Carolina, before bringing her skills and passion back home.
After years of struggling to find reliable, knowledgeable care for her own dogs, she was inspired to establish Pepper Street Pets. When she returned to Ridgefield to help her parents, she saw the perfect opportunity to turn her love of animals into something more: a full-time career dedicated to caring for pets and the people who love them.
Gwynne is always seeking to expand her knowledge through courses, trainings and seminars to bring the latest skills and best practices to the pets in her care. She takes pride not only in enhancing the lives of local pets but also in supporting the causes that make Ridgefield stronger as a community.
When she’s not looking after your animals, she loves listening to Bruce Springsteen and watching mysteries and crime shows on PBS and BritBox. And after spending so many hours working in the cold, she’s basically a hot-chocolate sommelier at this point!
Lynelle
HEAD HELPER
Lynelle has extensive pet-sitting experience and assists with visits during the holidays and other busy spurts. She’s known for giving all of the pets oodles of attention, and her calm nature makes her a magnet for more ear scratch and belly rub requests.
Malchik
VP OF FUN
Malchik leads the animal side of the business (and our “why”). Rescued from the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia, he found his forever home in America. Despite a traumatic injury early in life and a recent battle with cancer, he is such a happy pup with a zest for life. Every day, he inspires us and helps set the standard for the care we provide.
Finn
EXPLORER-IN-CHIEF
Finn, a rescue from North Carolina, was with us from the start. Though she passed in 2022, she inspired a lasting philosophy: that enrichment and exploration go far beyond a typical walk-walk. From sniffing all the smells to discovering trails around us, she showed us these moments can be just as exhilarating, beneficial and rewarding for dogs.
Lily
DIRECTOR OF (EXCELLENT) BEHAVIOR
Though Lily passed before the business was even an idea, she set the wheels in motion for learning about dog behavior and how to connect to a fearful dog. Through education and training, she became a Canine Good Citizen and loved to meet people. A favorite memory is her bright white head covered in hot pink lipstick kisses from Gwynne’s grandmother.
